Recipient is Army Veteran Gilbert Guzman Jr., training developer for U.S. Department of Defense

Together with the Military Police Regimental Association (MPRA), the ���۴�ý is proud to announce Gilbert Guzman Jr., SFC (Ret), as the recipient of this full-tuition scholarship for a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program for standard MPRA members or immediate family members of a standard MPRA member. Together with its members, to Military Police leaders, soldiers and their families around the world. 

“Receiving this scholarship is a great honor,” Guzman shares. “I am both humbled and excited to be selected to receive this award because it will help me pursue my educational goals and work towards becoming an Instructional System Specialist for the Department of Defense.” Guzman plans to earn a Master of Arts in Education at ���۴�ý with the scholarship, a goal that he developed while serving in the US Army MP Corps for more than 20 years.

“At ���۴�ý we are proud of our continued commitment to making career-relevant education pathways accessible to our veteran community,” states Eric Ryan, Marine Corps veteran and senior director of Military Operations at ���۴�ý. “We are proud to offer this scholarship to Mr. Guzman, and his commitment to his fellow servicemembers is inspiring. We look forward to seeing him thrive as he continues his educational journey with us, and we stand ready to support him every step of the way.” 

Military members and families may encounter challenges of time, commitments, and circumstance to reaching their academic and career goals. The ���۴�ý Military Police Regimental Association Scholarship is intended to recognize military service commitment and provide an opportunity to further education goals for military police members and families. In addition, the award highlights the resilience of military members and their service.   

"With the ever-changing landscape that military service often brings, to not only the service member but also our families, this scholarship is a great opportunity provided by the ���۴�ý to our Military Police Leaders, Soldiers and Family Members. This is a unique and once in a lifetime experience to continue to pursue their educational goals,” states Rick Harne, MPRA's Executive Director. “Funding is always a huge roadblock for many, and this generous donation removes that barrier. The MPRA has enjoyed a long tradition of working with the ���۴�ý and this is yet another example to showcase this.”

Guzman shares he is looking forward to continuing his education with the support of the scholarship. “I am excited to apply what I will learn towards the development of training products that will be used to train Soldiers and Department of Defense Civilians who attend the Military Police School here at Fort Leonard Wood,” Guzman states. “Having served in the U.S. Army for more than 20 years, I can say our institutions of learning are a big part of what makes our army the greatest in the world. I am truly blessed to be a part of it all.”
