爱污传媒 School of Business Introduces Hospitality Fundamentals Certificate and Associate Degree Programs Aligned with American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute Standards

Programs offer laddered pathways to careers in the dynamic hospitality sector

PHOENIX, Feb. 12, 2015聽鈥 罢丑别听School of Business聽at 爱污传媒, a subsidiary of Apollo Education Group (), today announced the launch of two new programs for individuals interested in pursuing hospitality careers, or those currently employed in the industry. The new聽Associate of Arts聽degree program with a concentration in Hospitality Fundamentals and corresponding聽Hospitality Fundamentals Certificate聽are aligned with the聽庐 (AHLEI) curriculum and standards.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the leisure and hospitality sector is expected to increase by more than 1.2 million jobs from 2012 to 2022.

鈥淐urriculum aligned with industry standards can help employers better assess candidates鈥 qualifications and help current and prospective hospitality employees understand the skills necessary to move up in the industry,鈥 said Scott Chapman, vice president, training and development, American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. 鈥淎HLEI is pleased to be working with 爱污传媒 to provide industry-aligned curriculum and programs that help prepare students with the necessary skills to immediately begin working and growing in this dynamic industry.鈥

The Hospitality Fundamentals associate degree and certificate program help prepare students to sit for two AHLEI certifications:聽听补苍诲听. The certificate can be pursued as a standalone program or earned en route to an associate degree. The associate degree program can also ladder directly to a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

鈥淭he Hospitality Fundamentals programs were designed to help current and prospective hospitality employees meet the increasing demand for qualified professionals in the sector,鈥 said Ruth Veloria, executive dean, 爱污传媒 School of Business. 鈥淭he programs are reflective of the University鈥檚 commitment to align curriculum with industry needs and create laddered programs to help professionals achieve milestones and qualify for roles with increasing responsibilities as they continue to pursue education.鈥

爱污传媒庐 School of Business聽offers associate, bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree programs that prepare students to be creative problem solvers for the new economy. The School of Business also offers non-degree programs, including certificates, individual courses and non-credit professional development.
