Indiana State Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Indiana does not provide for a separate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or application without prescribing privileges. The “APRN” license in Indiana is only for the additional authority to prescribe as an APRN. The ۴ý Master of Science in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN/FNP) program provides the education necessary to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the applicant’s Indiana or out-of-state compact registered nursing (RN) license.
Applicants who wish to obtain prescriptive authority should contact the Indiana Board of Nursing for information on the requirements and process for obtaining that authority.

Indiana State Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
Indiana does not provide for a separate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or application without prescribing privileges. The “APRN” license in Indiana is only for the additional authority to prescribe as an APRN. The ۴ý Master of Science in Nursing/Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN/PMH) program provides the education necessary to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the applicant’s Indiana or out-of-state compact registered nursing (RN) license.
Applicants who wish to obtain prescriptive authority should contact the Indiana Board of Nursing for information on the requirements and process for obtaining that authority.
